Jazz Bands

The Jazz Bands are big band style ensembles for students who wish to learn more about jazz style and theory and improvisation. The jazz bands follow the basic big band instrumentation but perform a wide variety of different styles of music, ranging from swing, bebop, latin, and funk. A considerable part of our daily jazz rehearsal goes towards the development of jazz improvisation for all the members of the groups.  The jazz bands are auditioned groups and perform several concerts yearly as well as at many community events around the Helena and Shelby County area.
